Scared Fearless by Kathryn Clark Childers 🌊🌊🌊🌊 (4️⃣/5️⃣) Recently I had the amazing opportunity to attend a Literary Feast benefiting the Rockport Center for the Arts with honored guest Kathryn Clark Childers to discuss her time as one of the first 5 women in the US Secret Service. Kathryn is such a captivating storyteller and had the most interesting stories to share about her time in the Secret Service including protecting Caroline Kennedy in her youth. Being the trailblazer that she is, she shared with us the weight of the responsibility she felt to do her job well so future women would have the chance and opportunity to be a part of the Secret Service. ⭐️ Growing up, Kathryn wanted to be Annie Oakley but didn’t know how to shoot a gun. After begging her father to teach her, she had the gun in her hand ready to shoot and told her dad she wanted to do it but she was scared. Her dad’s response, “Do it Scared!” I love this response and how it impacted the way in which Kathryn lived her life! ❤️ In the Epilogue, she goes on to say she once believed she could have it all, but has since come to believe you can have it all, but you can’t have it all at the same time. I found such peace in this statement. “Been there, done that.
