    71. Raising Resilient Kids

    71. Raising Resilient Kids

The lack of resilience in emerging adults is staggering. We see it in sports teams, colleges, the military, the mission field, and beyond.

Arming our kids with resilience is necessary for their success in all areas of life. But how can we do it?

Listen in to gain perspective from professionals, including high-level coaches, college deans, and mental health counselors at the MTC.

Armed with perspective, we will then talk about practical parenting tools and strategies that we can implement today to build resilience in our kids.

    70. What Can We Appropriately Say About the Temple?

    70. What Can We Appropriately Say About the Temple?

Whether we are talking about preparing our kids or others to enter the temple or trying to learn as much as we can about the temple so we can better access its power in our lives, what exactly can we talk about while preserving the sacred nature of God’s holy house?

Listen in for what I have learned from prophets, apostles, and other official Church resources about this topic.

(Hint...the list of things we cannot say is small...)

I will follow the guidelines I teach in this episode as I discuss the temple in the future.

    69. The Temple is the Answer

    69. The Temple is the Answer

For the past several months, I have felt drawn to the temple in unprecedented ways. While I have been attending the temple almost weekly for 10 years, I craved a deeper understanding of the ordinances and covenants we participate in there.

So, in January of this year, I became an ordinance worker. When the Temple President set me apart in this capacity, he said something that was a direct answer to months of prayers regarding the direction of my online work.

It has taken me a few months to put all the pieces together, but this episode explains why the temple was the missing piece in my work and how we all NEED it to stand forever with Jesus Christ.

    68. Experiencing the Goodness of Jesus

    68. Experiencing the Goodness of Jesus

Growing up in a society of great wickedness, Mormon, at age 15, was “visited of the Lord, and tasted and knew of the goodness of Jesus.” (Mormon 1:15)

If a 15-year-old, at a time when "the Holy Ghost did not come upon any because of their wickedness and unbelief,” could experience the goodness of Jesus, so can every one of us, including our children.

And, if that one-on-one experience with the Lord carried Mormon through a lifetime of circumstances that he said were “impossible for the tongue to describe, or for man to write a perfect description of the horrible scene of blood and carnage,” then the same can be true for us, in the circumstances of our lives. (Mormon 4:11)

Personal revelation = personal experiences with the Lord = experiencing the goodness of Jesus

No wonder we will need it to survive spiritually in the days ahead.

Listen in for all the details.

    66. Only God Can Change the Doctrine

    66. Only God Can Change the Doctrine

The past couple of weeks have been a little crazy as a female Latter-day Saint online content creator. The controversy surrounding the recent Worldwide Relief Society Broadcast has been thick, and the role of women in the Church has, once again, been called into the spotlight.

In this episode, I share my response to the controversy, not about the role of women in the Church, but about trusting in the One who stands at the head of it - Jesus Christ - and the structure He has established.
