ONLY $16,700! BYD Dolphin Arrives

BYD Dolphin

Chinese automaker BYD has a new version of its compact electric hatchback, and it’s a capable compact EV with a SHOCKING price tag!

The 2023 BYD Dolphin is supposed to be aimed at a young, tech-savvy customer base, and it’s the first vehicle from BYD that was designed under the brand’s “Marine Aesthetics” design language that blends flowing lines with sharp angles.

The Dolphin is based on BYD’s e-platform 3.0, which is powered by a 44.9 kWh BYD LFP Blade battery pack. It comes with two power options. First, there’s the 70 kW/180 Nm trim that has a cruising range of 420 km (261 miles) and has a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 10.9 seconds. Then there’s the 130 kW/290 Nm trim that has a slightly shorter cruising range of 401 km (249 miles), but it makes up for that by having a 0-100 km/h time of just 7.5 seconds.

Inside the BYD Dolphin, the driver has a flat-bottom multifunction steering wheel as well as a 5-inch full LCD instrument panel and a 12.8-inch floating central control screen. Other handy features include real-time tire pressure monitoring, heated front seats, and a six-way electronically adjustable driver seat. As for the driving experience, the Dolphin has four driving modes: energy saving, snow, sport, and comfort.

The price for the 2023 BYD Dolphin starts at ¥116,800 (about $16,700).
