I can’t believe it’s been 12 years since this video was recorded and shared across my automotive network. A prayer and a hope that I would win the scholarship to an automotive expert’s Auto Boot Camp conference. I didn’t know Brian Pasch, MA very well then, I happened to join a TK Carsites webinar hosted by Eliana Raggio that he was a guest on. I wanted to learn about #ZMOT and all things automotive digital marketing. That’s where I learned about his conference and ADM. Thanks to our dear friend Ralph Paglia 🕊️ , the Automotive Digital Marketing Professional Community (iykyk), Brian and the whole PCG team for creating a space for a student of the industry and supporting them on their journey. This scholarship contest and event was life changing. Connections made, lessons learned… I don’t know where my career would be if I hadn’t attended the conference. The journey has not been easy BUT I’ve never stopped being a student. So if you are wondering if you should attend the webinar/conference… do it. ALWAYS keep your mind open. Really trying not to cry with the support and love that is being sent my way as the Women of Color Automotive Network (WOCAN) newsletter news broke this morning. 🥹 #WOCAN was created almost 4 years ago in the summer of 2020, in a time when many were struggling - myself included - with what their future in automotive looked like. My mission is simple, I want women in our industry to see themselves in all areas of the business AND know that they have a community ready to welcome them with open arms, support them in their growth as well as entrepreneurial dreams. I want to educate young girls and women that the automotive industry can make your beyond dreams come true. If the little girl from #RobstownTx can make it on the cover of Digital Dealer Conference & Expo magazine - so can you. And I want to help businesses find their blind spots to help women of color thrive in the workplace. ERGs are great! But you also need open minds and hearts to bring honest discussion forward. This is how we evolve from doing things how they always have been and attract more women and women of color to our industry. Allie Peters has quickly become one of my favorite women in this industry and a fixed ops leader at that! Between the four of us, you are looking at over 65 years of experience in auto 🤯 I will sometimes wonder how I lasted so long in an industry that is TOUGH on women and I can honestly say it’s because of my tribe. The ones I worked with daily and the ones that have been a phone call away. Currently in recovery mode from a fantastic Spring Break with Jesse C. and a fraction of my loud, fun, loving Tex-Mex familia at Walt Disney World. 🏰 👑 🎢 Some thoughts: Disney is really a magical place and as someone passionate about customer experience, it above and beyond delivered. Especially as it took on my family of 15 during one of their busiest weeks of the year. From resort to parks and rides. Five stars. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 Also… I can’t say it enough but I love our auto fam community. 🚗 🫶🏽 🚙 On Day 1, Jesse and I were able to meet up with our friend Dan Moore and his wife Kelley at Hollywood Studios for a few drinks and snacks. 🍹 🥃 They are definitely #Disneygoals and their tips saved us on a number of occasions! 🙏🏽 But mainly, we just loved hanging out together in such a magical place! And… What are the odds we run into our pal Paul J Daly and his family as we are wrapping up the trip with shopping at Disney Springs?! It’s a small world after all! No pun intended 😂 Now, back to reality but in the best way possible because doing what I love allows me to help create magical moments for others in their car buying/maintenance experience. 🌟 P.S. talk about loyalty.
