June is audiobook month – this is why you should take part

Press play on reading in celebration of audiobook month.

Did you know that June is audiobook month?

As winter settles in here in Australia, there’s no better time to pop in those earbuds and let yourself drift away into a different universe. And the best part about it is that you won’t have to change much about your daily routine to take part.

Read on for a few reasons why you should incorporate audiobooks into your life this June.

Why celebrate audiobook month

Make cooking more fun

Cooking is polarising. For some, it’s a pleasure. For others, it’s a chore. No matter your stance on culinary arts, however, one thing is universally true: cooking is made better when accompanied by a book. Stay in theme with a foodie-inspired audiobook or get some comedic relief from monotonous chopping with a laugh-out-loud listen.

Read more in less time

It’s easy for reading to be shunted to the back burner. Too often set aside as an occasional pre-bedtime activity, listening to your books will allow you to finish your current reads in less time. Plus, you can even speed up your audiobooks for even faster listening. Trust us, you’re about to power through your TBR.

Amp up your workouts

Do you ever find you’re slacking in the gym? Need some motivation to get your heart rate up? Listening to a pulse-pounding thriller just might provide the adrenaline rush you need to power through your next training session.

Commit to self-improvement

Still not sold on the idea of audiobooks? What if you knew that listening to them could change your life? If self-improvement is what you’re after, a best-selling personal development book might be exactly what you need. Whether you choose a book about mental health or a deep dive into leadership, many amazing audiobooks have the potential to shift your mindset – and therefore your life.
