Plant Genetics

How can you make better coffee at home? Well, an easy way is to buy higher quality beans.

About the host

James Harper, an Italian Australian based in Berlin, left his corporate career in 2015 to dive into the world of specialty coffee.

Inspired by narrative podcasts like This American Life, he embarked on a journey to offer free educational podcasts to the coffee community in 2018.

Since launching Filter Stories, he’s traveled to 20+ countries, interviewed many hundreds of industry professionals and worked with over a dozen of the industry’s leading brands.

James writes and plays the piano music in every episode, which is one of the reasons each episode takes up to 100 hours of work.

When not crafting coffee tales, he enjoys improv acting, exploring remote places and trying unusual food.
